The PZC is preparing a text amendment to encourage the adaptive reuse of large scale nonresidential structures in residential zones. The intent is to promote architectural preservation and adaptive reuse of structures like churches, schools, and fraternal halls for conversion to residential dwellings in a manner that is appropriate in their existing neighborhoods.

The Conservation Commission published the Natural and Cultural Resources and Open Space and Recreation Guide in 2017. The guide features color coded maps that identify important features of the Town. Land Use applicants must provide a review letter from CT State Archeologist Sarah Sportman PhD when making application that includes disturbance of archeologically sensitive sites.
